Terms of business

Plain English, no legal padding. These are the terms you agree to when you sign up for a website with Sentinel Creative. If anything here is unclear, just ask before you start.
Who you are dealing with
Sentinel Creative is a trading name of Sentinel Metrics Limited, registered in England & Wales, company no. 16968275, registered office 5 Brayford Square, London, E1 0SG. Day to day that is Bartek, working out of St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
The plans

Prices are in GBP. Sentinel Metrics Limited is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.
What "included updates" means
On the monthly plans, included changes are the kind that take me under about 30 minutes: a new price, a new service, a swapped photo, changed opening hours, a seasonal offer. Starter covers small fixes; Standard covers regular and seasonal updates as above.
Not included on any plan, quoted separately: major redesigns, new pages or sections, and new features like online ordering, booking systems or payment checkout.
Changes on the one-off plan are charged at £35 per hour, with a 30 minute minimum. Anything likely to take more than an hour I price up front and do nothing until you approve it, so there are no surprise bills.
Payment
- Monthly plans are billed monthly in advance by card through Stripe. The first payment starts the work.
- The one-off plan is £400 paid upfront before the site goes live, then £10/mo for hosting and domain.
- If a monthly payment fails and is not sorted within a reasonable time, the site may be taken offline until it is.
Cancelling
- Monthly plans: cancel anytime, no contract, no notice period. You stop paying, the site comes offline at the end of the paid period.
- One-off plan: you already own the files, so there is nothing to cancel. Stop the £10/mo and I hand over the files and help you move hosting.
Who owns what
- Monthly plans: I host the site and manage the domain for you. If you leave, I export everything and hand it over. No hostage situations.
- One-off plan: the site files and the domain are yours, in your name, to take anywhere.
Domains and hosting
Where I buy and manage a domain on your behalf, I keep it renewed while you are a paying customer. If you leave, the domain can be transferred to you. Hosting is on a reliable provider (currently Cloudflare). Downtime is rare but no host is perfect, and I cannot guarantee 100% uptime.
What a website can and cannot do
A website makes you look professional and easy to contact. It does not, on its own, generate customers. Your work, your reviews and word of mouth do that. I will not promise a number of leads or a position on Google, because nobody honest can.
Liability
I will do the work with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, my total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid in the previous 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Your content
You confirm you have the right to use any text, photos, logos and reviews you give me for your site, and that they are accurate. Anything I build for you, you are licensed to use as set out in your plan.

Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the version on this page applies going forward. Existing prices are not increased without telling you first.
